5 Minutes with...

I was digging through some old media clippings today and found a piece I did with the Sunshine Coast Daily in 2011.  The journalist sent me a list of questions to answer to go in a regular column in the business section entitled "5 Minutes with ....".  I suppose the idea is to let readers gain a deeper insight into the person behind the business.

At the time I had a lot of fun answering the questions and thought this might be a great way for us to introduce the j2 team.

So here are my original, unedited answers from two years ago - surprisingly, I don't think I would choose to change my responses if asked the same questions again today.

..and yes, I have never cooked a meal in my life!

To me business is...  the third child I never had.

My first job was...  at the Ekka as Space Maiden of the Ansett Starship Crew, handing out kids' show-bags.  This was followed by a short stint as Benny Banana.

My biggest failure was...  staging a New Years Eve event where the fireworks didn't go off at midnight!

My biggest success was... winning a Telstra Business Award in 2007, I have never looked back.

The greatest risk I ever took...  floating the River Stage from Darling Harbour in Sydney up the coastline to Brisbane.  I don't know what I was thinking.

The best advice I ever got was...  if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life!

When times are good, I...  go skiing with the kids.

When times are bad, I...  still go skiing with the kids.

I am reading...  the backs of everything these days to see how much sugar and salt is in everything we eat.  Sad I know.

I really wish...  I could take a day off during the week and not feel guilty about it.

I could not live without...  my husband Brian.

The thing not many people know about me is...  I have never cooked a meal in my life (and never will!).  If it wasn't for Brian, the kids would starve.
